Kudos to 5 Guys for blowing the proverbial pants off the local owned/independents round these parts...the same greasy goodness that marks this national chain's signature is certainly not lost on this new-ish Boynton Beach location; neither are the three "F"'s that are quickly becoming the focal point of this newbie Yelper's reviews...Fast, Flavorful, and Friendly, with the latter proving the downfall of at least one, er..."competitor" rather sad to fathom the irrefutable vibe of welcome that freely flows from a national chain as compared to that of the local mom and pop....(see previous review)......hmmmmm.....too much "POP" and not enough "mom" me thinks?!? Just sayin'.....

On the evening we visited, the place was packed. The lights and ambiance inside remind me of a cafeteria in a hospital. The bright white fluorescent lights and white/red checkered tiled walls were not comforting or soothing. The loud noise and heavy grease smell is also pretty unappetizing. The burgers we ordered took 15 minutes to prepare. They tasted average. I've had better at other local burger joints. The parking lot was a nightmare. Not enough spaces for the heavy traffic flow. Not likely to return

This restaurant has gone down hill fast. We used to go there once week. The last 3 times we ate there it has gotten worst each time. The last time we ate there the guy making the hamburgers was pressing them down so hard they were burnt and dry. Unless this location gets some new help we will not be back there.

Good burger, good fries, free peanuts, fast-food atmosphere & good price. If I'm going to eat a fast food burger, its going to be here where I can at least watch them making a patty from what looks like real meat. Makes me feel better about myself! Good place but not extraordinary. Update: Ate there a 2nd & 3rd time over the past several months. The 3rd time was tonight... Greasy as hell. I feel sick after eating their little cheeseburger & fries.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! If you are craving a good burger this is the place!!!! Even my 8 year old loves this place! It is always busy and that's a good sign! Free peanuts while you wait. I had the little cheeseburger which was perfect!

They saved us tonight after we mistakenly stumbled into between the bun for my sons school fundraiser - see my review under that restaurant. As we walked in we were greeted very warmly, the staff all wears gloves (something between the bun patrons won't be accustomed to) awesome burgers as always and they told us to have a good night and thanked us for our business on our way out. The staff here is excellent, the food was delicious and spot on!

This is a go to for a quick burger. The fresh cajun fries offers more than enough to fill my appetite.

A surprisingly good burger for a fast food joint. No ambiance...take out only. Not crazy for the fries, they feel a little under cooked to me.

pretty damn good burgers with lot's of options. they are extremely generous on the fries. a small order is good for two people.

Five Guys is a chain of odd, almost-fast-food-but-not kinda place - you order at the counter and they yell out your number when the orders ready. The hamburger was great (reminded me of those burgers we used to get in the old days!) but - I'm sorry - the fries were not good: heavy, soggy, blah. Although its a new place, it wasn't very clean and it was my first time so I didn't quite know what to do or where to go. Nice to have it in Boynton!

I went here last week. Always the best homemade burgers you can buy. Fries fresh made, too. I get double chees with no upcharge. They also have Coke Zero which is a plus. Good classic and popular rock on the Muzak.

The fries were mounded....the burger fresh....not greasy and well worth the stand in line.... Steady flow of people... nothing fancy about the place....but if you want a great burger... this is place to be!

Great burgers. Fries are the best.

  • Dave B.

Great burger. Big and juicy and I like all the trimmings. As far as the fries goes, I find they are tastier when they are cooled off a little. You get the fries right out of the frier so they're hot and I wasn't crazy about them but then when they cooled off a little I found them to be tasty. I've had the cajun and regular fries and like them both. And who can pass up the free peanuts while you're waiting?

After all the rave reviews tried a cheeseburger and fries at the Boca location last night. The burger was just OK on the dry side with little flavor. The fries were inedible,a soggy broken mess.Extremely disappointing. Will not be back. If you must go get take out. The noise level will give you a headache. Very nice staff and super clean.

I just had lunch there. It was tasteless and underwhelming. Almost $14 for a burger, fries and a soda as well. I left there wanting to get more food elsewhere.

first vist fast service. order comes in a brown paper bag. burgers grilled well done. fries taste good greasy .

So we went at an off time of day. The place was empty. That was awsome, cause the last time we was there it was packed. I'm sure you can guess that the burgers were great. I had the bacon burger. Mmmmm bacon. Kelly had a chezze burger also great. But the highlite is the fresh cut fries. They are so good we got an second order. This is a place that, the food never disappoints. Parking is tuff there when it's busy. The parking lot is very small. There is several business sharing the same lot. But if you like great simple burgers & fries. That are all made fresh. You gota go here.

love it, have never had a bad jalapeno burger here, bacons always crispy & the meats always juicy

I gave this place four stars because i AM a fan of 5guys, They're burgers are not for the thick patty cooked to order crowd, but they are salty, delicious and you can go nuts with the toppings. Great spot for a quick bite with friends, if you have vegetarians among you, ask for a grilled cheese ;)

The best burger in town! Love these cheeseburgers!

I used to visit the original Five Guys in Arlington, VA. This one in Boynton Beach isn't as cool inside as the one in VA, but the food is absolutely as good. I used to go every Sunday as a treat for the week. Great. Great. Great. A few tips for those people that have never been to a Five Guys. Unless you are extremely hungry, you can get away with ordering the "Little Cheesburger"... it is a one-patty burger that is plenty for even a big guy like me. Especially if you get all the fixin's. Also, DO NOT order the "Large Fries" unless you want to eat a LOT of french fries. The way they generally do it at Five Guys is that they will get a cup, fill it with fries, put it in the bag, and then put more fries on top. A regular fries is plenty. A "Large" is for two people.

This restaurant has been reviewed for different locales, but never in Boynton. So happy to have this awesome burger joint open up near me. Tasty, juicy burgers and great, fresh fries. Reasonably priced, well run, and lots of toppings to choose from at no extra price. Def will go back!!

Why am I the only one who doesn't like this place? I am only giving them 2 stars because the bacon was crispy and thick. The burger itself was so dry and overcooked that I had to add a huge tablespoon of blue cheese dressing to make it edible. It had no flavor at all. I had heard such good things about this place, maybe I will give it one more try and eat in instead of picking it up. I am sad that it doesn't compare to In & Out Burger, I was hoping for a great east coast burger. Try Moran's in Lake Worth, their build your own burgers are delicious!

good and affordable but nothing special. basic options for the burgers. but I do like the Cajun fries.

  • Jay M.

Best burger ever. End of story. Juicy and greasy but well done. Great toppings, good bun. Excellent fries (Mom says "Like the county fair.") Try it and discover the greasy hand of death clasped about your arteries.

My first bite was good and inhaled the rest of it sooo fast! A large fry fed my family of 6-- fresh cut too! I'm a fan!

I've heard of Five Guys' reputation and stumbled across one as I was wandering around Florida looking for food. Would it match In-n-Out, my favorite California burger joint? I got the standard hamburger and fry combo. Hamburger piled high with every topping imaginable. The fries overflowed out of the container. (It took all of my self discipline to not finish them all.) I took my first bite. Hamburger was super juicy and fries were fresh and thicker than from most fast food places. Sorry In-n-Out, I stil love you but you've been dethrowned by Five Guys for best burger.

Best burger I have ever had- consistently great every time I get one- my favorite is the bacon- cheeseburger. The fries are outstanding -the small size is more than enough for 2 people. Everything is made right in front of you. Been to several locations in different states - ALL great!!

No better burger available for this price. Great staff. Super clean store. Never a bad thing to say about this five guys!

  • Michael M.

I guess I'm the crazy one but I just don't understand the appeal of this place. The portions are generous but it ain't cheap enough to call them huge. The burgers are okay... But just okay... The fries are soggy, bland, and greasy. Lots of people love 5 Guys... But not me.

    (2)
  • Frank D.

This is going to be a short review, as many others have said what a great place this is. Consistently good burgers, made fairly quickly, Not much more to say. They serve really good burgers and fries. It's not a secret why they're so popular...and while they're busy, they're still pretty fast. Their food is a caloric nightmare and a half....but nobody walks into a burger joint to get thin. If you're gonna eat a week's worth of fat and calories, you should enjoy it...and here you will.

A burger wasn't in it for me, so I settled for the grilled cheese sandwich. It was ooey and gooey. The fries are good and they gave us a lot. We threw away half of them because it was too much. The peanuts were good. They tend to make a mess if you don't clean up after yourself. That's why I miss Roadhouse :P You can add as many toppings as you want for no extra charge. It's a little more expensive than your drive thru combo, but it doesn't hurt every once in a while.

    (4)
  • Jamie C.

Great burgers with whatever toppings your heart desires. Fries are ok. You can get a thing of peanuts in shell while you wait for your food. Great idea!

We've had some ups and downs with this place and it has mirrored a romantic relationship. The first few times we got intimate with each other it was mind-blowing since we've never been to the chain before. Those burgers pack some serious unhealthy taste and the fries were amazing compared crappy drive-through stuff. But then the novelty wore down and we found some imperfections. We tried to take some family friends and they couldn't go because they said it was bad for their health due to the calories and fat - I briefly looked up the fries and it is 1500 calories for a large (in fairness you get a bag full equating to maybe three McDonald large fries). The biggest kicker is the sanitary habits. We noticed a few questionable things and would tell employees and they would be slow to respond. On one instance a sick little girl horked and it got all over the soda fountain. We watched them clean it and thought there might still be vomit on it so we were totally grossed out and only come back rarely to this location. Each time I go I see new employees so there are definitely issues going on. In spite of all that, I still jones for it every once in a while, but they I remember that I shell out ten plus dollars for something I could get for three at mcdonalds so I usually just skip it.

Five guys is perhaps the tastiest fast food burger you can get. It is a touch pricier than your standard drive-through, but well worth the moderate price increase. Burgers are always cooked fresh, but still quite a fast turn-a-round in spite of that fact. And if you happen to like just a touch of heat, the Cajun Fries take what is already a fantastic French fry and make it magnificent!

    (5)
  • Bill S.

Excellent burger and fries. I prefer my fries well done and they accommodate that request. I like the double cheese burger with the crisp bacon. The bacon here is the best. My only complaint is that they should NOT wrap the burgers in aluminum foil like a mini UFO and just serve them wrapped in paper like other places.

    (4)
  • Taryn W.

The burgers here are out of this world. I got the bacon burger and I'm glad I did. It tasted like the best cookout burger I've ever had. Sloppy and juicy. I will surely be back before I start eating healthy next month. ;-)

I can see that the reviews are at opposite ends of the scale. I think it's because I've just had too many burgers that are far better than this. This reminds me of a homemade burger, with the way the ground beef just falls apart. I would honestly pick Burger King over this. I can appreciate that they are using fresh potatoes for their fries, but these things seem far more saturated with oil than either Wendy's or Burger King. The cashier was disturbingly unfriendly and soulless. I've tried the one in Boca Raton also and I can say that I was equally unimpressed. More bothersome than all of this is the décor. The place has the warmth of morgue, and they find it necessary to tout their tepid reviews on their walls, to remind you that someone out there once found their food good. Not me.

  • Don L.

Love the burgers and fries. My biggest gripe is when you order online as I did last night its never ready on time. I waited 20 minutes to get my order. Thats 20 minutes after the time it stated what time it was to be ready online! Why even bother having an online order option if you still have to wait the same amount (or longer) of time as if you just showed up and placed the order! Not cool!

  • Rachel M.

Pretty good burger. Tried the little cheeseburger with everything on it... skipped the fries and was definitely pleased :) Took my burger to go and it was just the right size. Think its a bit pricy at almost $5 for a 'little cheeseburger' but it was worth it for a once in awhile indulgence.

  • Dan O.

This cheeseburger does not care if you live or die. It is a juicy, beefy merchant of death who exists solely to: A. deliver complete burger satisfaction with your choice of free toppings B. punch your arteries in the face and make you like it C. rob you of any future plans you may have with loved ones. If you survive, it matters not. Delicious cheeseburger will be waiting for you next time, accompanied by a MASSIVE army of fresh-cut fries... and that's just if you order the regular size. Order the large and you will have to recruit several comrades to have any chance of survival. Five Guys is the best burger you can get without table service.

  • Shawn M.

The 2nd best burger chain in the world. Since there is no In-N-Out Burger in florida this will have to do. The burgers are freshly prepared to order and the fries are pretty good too. I had the cajun fries which were great. I'd suggest always getting at least a double burger because the patties are really small...like smaller than mcdonalds small... on the upside they are pretty thick. If you want a fast food burger thats not a "fast food" burger then this is your place. Its fresh, its cooked to perfection and its filling.

The Good: The best Burgers & Fries, low Prices, nice staff & service The Bad: Wish they opened earlier! Quick Tip: Don't order a large fries for one person. A large serves four by my count. I have been putting off reviewing Five Guys for months because I was too busy eating there. After more than 10 visits, I feel I have seen the full range of service experiences on offer, and I am happy to report that even on Five Guy's worst day, they still kick ass. You will not find a better burger in Boynton Beach. You will not find a better burger for under $5 in the world. Dare I say it, the cajun fries are the best I have ever had. Five Guys does everything right. They don't spend money to advertise because the customers do it for them for free (SERIOUSLY). The burgers are perfectly satisfying, the fries perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff is always nice, smiling and courteous. I have the feeling that if you were rude to a customer even once, you wouldn't be working here. Dining room is spotless and everything just feels clean. If you haven't tried Five Guys yet, find some time to go. I hope you hate it, because if you end up a convert, no other burger joint will ever be acceptable! You will raise your own "burger & fries" standards by eating here just once. Be warned.

Five Guys is hipster burger, three steps down from the gods of burgers, In and Out, which thankfully for them they don't compete with here in Florida, and ten steps up from Ron's Steakhouses under the greasy golden arches. Great meat freshly made. Good. Too much fat in the meat. Yeah. That's half a star. Great oversized french fries? Check. The only thing that is missing, after years of going to these in different places, are the drinks. Most of these hipster joints have beer, great rootbeer on tap, and SHAKES. I don't indulge anymore in ice cream in a cup myself, but my family and friends love 'em. There are so many good burger joints that round off the meal with good beverages in the naked city that it keeps me out of places like this unless I happen to be directly on top of one, and too lazy to drive a few miles in either direction of competitors like Shake Shack, Burger FI, Relish, Chuck Burger, etc. That drops another star and a half. You were big guns on the hill when you were going-to-toe with the clown and the King and you had small burger chain charm. Now you're up in the big leagues. If In-and-Out ever went national, along with fine smaller chains biting at your heels, people would be saying "Remember Five Guys?" as they find the sun tan joint in your place of business.

I finally got a chance to go to a five guys.. I normally do not eat food like this.. My friend owns a couple in Atlanta but it never really interested me... So we went this afternoon... I got the Tiny Bacon Cheeseburger and there was nothing Tiny about it it was huge and then you can choose from about 15 toppings at no charge and it tasted very fresh and was very good. I also got a small fry and this was like the size of a super size large fry anywhere else, there were so many fries ,and they were very good fresh cut fries... So my friend and I shared the fries and we still ended up throwing away half of them... The place was very clean and also had friendly service... If you like Burgers then this is the place for you.. Simple Food Cooked Right....

SHHH! Dont tell my husband I ate here for lunch last week! SO GOOD...and they know it. They always have posters on their walls saying "voted best burger in ______." They are so awesome, easily my favorite burger in town. Small hint (even though its written on the menu): All toppings are free and the cheeseburger automatically comes with two patties. Also- the fries are incredible. They have the whole "burger and fries" thing down to a science. Go there if you are feeling naughty.

Always good, great consistency no matter which one I've been to and the online ordering makes it so easy for pick up or eat in. Split the fries as there's more than enough in one order and help yourself to the free peanuts. Staff at this one in Boynton always friendly, courteous, and fast!

Great place for a good, quick burger and fries. Very raw setting but very good, messy, greasy burgers. I like the sacks of potatoes decor as well! The kids love the hot dogs too!

  • David C.

I have been here several times and the burgers have been consistently good. The staff is polite and work very hard to keep those burgers flying. I don't personally care for the fries but I am picky about my fries. I recommend them and will return.

I ate at five guys in New York City and it was a good experience so wow when I found one in Boynton Beach I didn't hesitate. This place is able to draw on the five guys reputation. When we entered we were happily greeted by a man in the grill area. I ordered a small cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato, mustard, ketchup, pickles and a small fries. My friend ordered a plain cheeseburger and water to eat in. When we were called for our order, it was stuffed into a small bag. There are no trays thus the bag. we sat at one table but quickly moved as it wobbled too much. the next tabled was stable built as I removed my food I found it was sticky although it looked clean. II opened my cheeseburger and discovered there was no ketchup on it. The one ketchup container on the counter was out so we told one of the guys and he came over with his squirt bottle and squeezed some into a plastic cup. I was finally able to start eating my cheeseburger. It didn't look or taste anything like what you would expect from a fresh grilled CB. The tomatoes were so dry and unappetizing looking that I removed them first. It was closer to a McD CB in taste and looks. The fries were good but they were room temperature. There is no fixings bar at this Five Guys. Packets of salt, pepper, straws, napkins and the like are loon thee counter next to a pump container for ketchup. There are fountain drinks which you serve yourself. This Five Guys was a real disappointment. Along thee walls in frames are newspaper articles from Baltimore, Atlanta and others with great reviews of the Five Guys I in the area. II learned from reading some of them that FG is a franchise restaurant. That could be the only reason for the way this one operates. The founders would be at the least unhappy with how this franchise represents them. Unfortunately, this is not the place to go to get a juicy, tasty CB.
